Hanging in the gym where Ali Rambis ’14 served, bumped, and spiked to victory, the place that was home to 6 a.m. workouts, is Bronco jersey No. 34.

Her dad’s jersey.

While Kurt Rambis ’80 suited up for Bronco basketball, Ali found a home on the volleyball court. And that jersey marked a key sports lesson that’s good for the rest of life.

“It really did remind me every single day how hard you have to work, and you can’t take days off, you can’t slack off, because that’s what it takes to achieve success,” says Ali, who now practices law in Los Angeles. “Going in early, getting the extra time, getting the extra reps, going above and beyond—that’s really what I think makes the difference.”
