Forty-four students from 11 countries, including the U.S., celebrated their graduation from the Jesuit School of Theology in May. The school bestowed 56 degrees upon the cohort. Sister Carol Keehan, a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, spoke to the graduates, reminding them of the need for leaders not just in science or technology but also in divinity. “The disarray in our journeys to live life to its fullest as individuals, as a church, as a country, or a world is so painfully evident,” she says.

“This calls for inspired and creative leadership that helps individuals and groups step back.” At the ceremony, the school awarded an honorary degree to Keehan, the retiring president and chief executive officer of the Catholic Health Association of the United States and one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people.
